Drought Free - Drought Free Irrigation (DFI) is a family
owned irrigation company serving north- eastern MA and southern NH.
We have more than 15 years of experience, designing, installing and
servicing lawn sprinkler and irrigation systems. Our goal is to stay
small and focus on customer service.
Since more than 90 percent of our new installations are referrals,
our main focus is on residential properties. However, we are happy
to service commercial customers as well as athletic fields.
Services - DFI will custom design an
irrigation system to meet your property's specific landscape needs.
We will take into consideration, water pressure and gallons per minute,
as well as plants and planting material.
- DFI will install your system in a timely manner with little
damage to your lawn and a time frame that will fit with your current
or planned landscaping.
- DFI will personally service all components of your sprinkler
system.
- Service contracts are also available for residential and commercial
customers.
- We will winterize your sprinkler system by blowing all of the
water out of the entire system. (You will receive a complimentary
winterization the first season if we install a system for you.)
- We will be glad to give you a free estimate.
- We offer upgrades or will add onto an existing system.
- We are experienced in all types of irrigation, including, lawn,
garden and drip irrigation.
- We offer a full two year parts and labor warranty.
- We will use a licensed plumber to tie your system into your
residential water system.
- We will install a backflow preventer to your system as required
by the health department.
  Products
- We are proud to install top quality products such as the
Hunter PGP rotary head, the number one selling residential rotary
head in the world. The Hunter Pro-C timer is very reliable and simple
to operate. A Hunter Mini Click Rain Sensor is included with the installation
of all of our systems to conserve water and help prevent over watering
during rainy times. Drought Free Irrigation offers several other lines
of irrigation supplies such as Rainbird and Irritrol to name a few.
Why should you install an irrigation system?
- Save water. No more forgetting you left the hose on.
- Save money. No more over watering. Water just the landscape
components needed.
- Save time. No more dragging hoses around the yard only to have
your lawn burn when you go on vacation. Irrigation is automatic.
The Installation process:  After
you have received your free estimate, and have decided to use us as
your installation company, we will require a 15% deposit. We will
try to schedule our plumber to tie into your plumbing on the same
day that we will install the rest of your system. Depending upon your
current landscaping, the average residential installation takes 1
day. We will install all of the pipe underground with a Ditch Witch
Pipe Puller. All of your zone valves will be buried neatly in a few
(depending upon how big your system is) valve boxes in one area.
The sprinkler heads will be installed and adjusted, and your timer
will be set to water in the early morning hours to get the most out
of your water pressure and avoid water evaporation. You will need
to decide where you would like your automatic timer hung. The garage
or the cellar are the most common areas for the timer, but keep in
mind, it will need to plug into an electrical outlet. If your house
has town water and sewer, you should check with the water department
to see if they allow second meters. A second meter will prevent you
from being charged sewerage charges for water going on your lawn.

Service Plans Available
 Our
Service Plan includes:
- Spring start up. (We will run through your entire system to
ensure every thing is in proper working order.)
- Mid season check-up. (Again we will run through your entire
system).
- Winterization. We will shut the system down for the winter by
blowing all of the water out of it.
